How to Check If Your BMW E60, E61, E63 or E64 Has AUX
09.11.2026 | Ugode | FAQ

Before installing an Android screen, check whether AUX is available in the original BMW iDrive menu. It takes less than a minute and helps avoid a no-sound problem after installation.

Quick answer: if the factory audio menu shows AUX or AUX Audio, AUX is enabled. If the menu only shows sources such as FM, AM and CD, AUX is not currently available.

1. Open the Entertainment menu

Turn on the original iDrive system. From the main menu, choose Entertainment. On some versions, the next screen may be called CD or Multimedia.

2. Check the audio sources

Look through the available sources. If you can see AUX, AUX Audio or Audio AUX, the function is enabled.

3. What if AUX is missing?

If the source list shows FM, AM and CD but no AUX option, the function may not be enabled on the original system.

Enable AUX before fitting an Android display. Follow the UGODE BMW E60, E61 and E63 AUX activation guide, then return to the factory audio menu and confirm that AUX appears.

Still not sure?

Take a clear photo of the original iDrive audio-source menu. The full list of sources should be visible so the system can be checked correctly.

Quick FAQ

Does an AUX socket mean AUX is enabled?

Check the factory iDrive menu as well. For an Android screen that sends sound through the original AUX channel, the AUX option must be available in iDrive.

Why does the Android screen have no sound?

If the installation uses the factory AUX channel and AUX is missing from iDrive, the original stereo cannot receive the Android screen's audio. Enable AUX first, then select it as the source.
