Why is there a 1-2 second audio delay when playing music with wireless CarPlay?
If you use wireless CarPlay, you may have noticed that while the visuals are synced perfectly, the audio lags by 1-2 seconds. However, navigation prompts and phone calls have no delay. The most obvious example is when switching songs: the display already shows the next track, but the sound is still playing the previous song. So what causes this? Is it an issue with wireless CarPlay itself?
Here’s the conclusion: This is a normal phenomenon, and it occurs in all vehicles connected via wireless CarPlay. The reason lies in Apple’s design: wireless CarPlay intentionally delays media audio by 1-2 seconds to prevent unstable audio quality caused by instant data packet loss during playback. As a result, there is a noticeable delay in media audio, while navigation and phone audio remain completely unaffected.
